Problem: At the height of COVID-19, Black women were navigating isolation while facing an urgent need for culturally relevant conversations around mental health, self-care, beauty, and holistic wellness.
Insight: Beauty and wellness don’t exist separately. Creating space for Black women to care for their entire selves also means creating space to connect, learn, feel seen, and heal in community.
Approach: Co-founded #BBWCon with Sha Ravine and helped build the inaugural virtual conference from concept to launch. Led art direction, social media content, promotional design, public relations, and media outreach, while spearheading wellness programming and talent booking for conversations spanning mental health, self-love, skincare, nutrition, physical wellness, and the experiences of women of color in beauty.
Impact: Generated 800+ RSVPs, welcomed 600+ attendees, and earned 1K+ replay views shortly after launch. The four-hour experience brought together 14 panelists across four curated panels, earning organic editorial coverage while creating a virtual community centered on Black women, beauty, wellness, and self-care during an unprecedented cultural moment.
